I switch it off on purpose and am surfing happily with that setting
for years now. I regard it as an additional security problem and I
will only switch it on for trusted pages when I really value seeing
the page higher than protecting system integrity. For many pages
displaying just nothing without JavaScript I will not try to see them.
But I know I'm a hardcore minimalistic browser user -- I disable Flash
animations, too.
JavaScript's perfectly ok for some fancy dynamic features not
otherwise programmable -- I do it myself on my own pages to make
people happier that have it switched on -- those are the vast
majority, of course, thus I hope there's more happiness. :-)
So on David's page, I should probably not have complained. Please
forget my remark.
