The Saalangal calendar is currently in the year 4368. They handle it just
like a regular number (they do not usually take shortcuts), and place "yu
gólem" (year) before the number:
4,368 - Yu gólem émpang palí kun dáong suan kun inmang sála kun hálo. (kun
means "and")
For the current year in our calendar, they would do the same:
2000 - Yu gólem dúweng palí.
They also dont go by decades, or centuries. They do mark millennia as
special, but they dont get excited over them (in their calendar, no one
alive has seen a millennial changeover, nor will they ever see one, of
course).
