I'm another one. Born and raised a little north of Austin, went to the
University of Texas, lived there 25 years, tho' I've lived elsewhere for
ten years now.
I'm told I don't have much of a Texas accent. But I can turn it on when
needed.
Besides: There is not one single "Texas Accent"; but a number of accents
mixed across the state. In my UT linguistics class we had to take data
for the Texas Dialect Survey. Does anyone know where I can find results
of this study?
