About K and k... I'm sorry, I should've posted the details of my
orthography. I had to resort to Klingon's (rather kludgy IMHO) method of
using capital letters to represent different phonemes than small letters,
because I have 9 vowels and 27 consonants -- way too many to represent
with the Roman alphabet. K is actually the aspirated unvoiced velar,
whereas k is the unaspirate, unvoiced velar. Also, 0 and 3 aren't numbers;
they are vowels (there are way too few vowels in the Roman alphabet, and
I'm already using w and y for vowel sounds).
About the accents... the language is mainly pitch-accented, and the pitch
contour ("melody") of a word is determined by the "stress syllable", which
is the syllable marked with the apostrophe. This syllable usually *isn't*
stressed unless the word is actually emphasized; but it does affect the
pitch accent. In the above sample, I placed the accents mainly in a way
that most closely resembles how a typical English speaker would say it,
pitch-wise.
