I've only seen - being used to render the long vowel mark. Such people would write, for example, arigatou, but konpyu-ta. They'd write arigato- only if the writer in the Japanese used that (and occassionally, that mark is used in hiragana, even tho its nonstandard) Incidentally, there are a few words written with _ee_ for long e, like _oneesan_ -- "There's no such thing as 'cool'. Everyone's just a big dork or nerd, you just have to find people who are dorky the same way you are." - overheard ICQ: 18656696 AIM Screen-Name: NikTaylor42
