Well, I think it's because, at least for me, "Floridian" sounds better than "Floridan". In fact for my hometown of Marina, we usually say "Marinian" (well everyone I know says that at least), because it sounds better than "Marinan" (though some people say "Marinian" or "Marinite"). The names for inhabitants of the local towns here are: Montereyan Seasidian Marninian (or Marinan, or Marinite) PG'er (Pacifc Grove) Carmelite Salinan (Salinas) Watsonvillian Castrovillian Santa Cruzan (funny, that's the name of a festival from the Philippines too) ________________________________________________ It's worth the risk of burning, to have a second chance...
