if i may, i think Christophe only meant that he has to do the job and needs some
leeway for that. he can't comply with everyone's personal preferences. remember
the T-shirt! :-) i met him several times and i can assure you he's a very
efficient and reliable person, and a very quiet and friendly one as well--in
spite of appearances ;-) don't take his bubbling bursts about "principles" too
seriously. french people use to say more than they think and unfortunately
they're trained from their young age to bolster any other claim and the contrary
with logical arguments regardless how little they really care. it's not a good
way but it's a way they cannot really change. now moneywise i'd think that
downloading a pdf file is free and printing and snailmailing the journal would
cost what a nearly dutch subject would accept laying out for that--which sounds
only good news to me. did i miss something else as usual?

don't lose your job.
