Regarding generations ships, There was a one book role playing game called
Psychosis that dealt with this. Its different than normal rpgs in the way
its played. this is a spoiler : : the characters are actually the awakened
crew that are supposed to land the ship at its destination. But because of
the long sleep their brains aren't ready to take everything in. So each
person sees things differently, one will see himself as an ant trying to
escape the ant mound, while another may see the same situation as a cowboy
trying to outrun the posse. While in reality they are running from the
people of the ship. Its cool because the ship has been out so long that
most people don't believe there was ever anywhere else. There are a few who
believe the old stories and their the ones that woke the crew. The whole
idea of a destination home has become a kind of religious 'eden'.
