I have heard that British Sign Language has a topic-comment grammar.
Regions of space can be designated as pronouns. Here's an example, using
<angle brackets> to indicate a sign.
<region1> <cat>
<region2> <mat>
<region1> <sit> <region2>
"The cat sat on the mat".
