I spoke to the nice man from Alloy Design. And discovered a nasty sting in
the tail.

Yes, folks, welcome to the wonderful world of tax. That price I gave is no
longer a good estimate of the final price. Irina, that price estimate you
had, did that include taxes? Including taxes, I think it is still possible
to make the GBP 10 (plus shipping) per T-shirt price goal, if the order size
reaches 24.

Material: The T-shirts they use come in 4 sizes, S, M, L, XL. These have,
respectively, chest sizes 42, 44, 46, 48 inches (multiply by 2.5 for teh
equivalent in cm). I was shown samples, and the material is not prone to
fading or shrinkage. They do have *really* cheap material, but I made it
clear on the phone that I was not interested in that. The T-shirt material
weight is 155 g/m^2, if that means anything to you folks.

Ordering: Note that I am still not accepting actual orders, although I am
accepting 'intents to purchase'. I need to know numbers so that I can get a
precise quote on the cost. The above costs given are still estimates based
on an assumed total of 24 orders, which I have not yet reached.

When I eventually accept orders, I will need payment in the form of a cheque
(US: check) made out to myself (Fabian van-de-l'Isle), payable in British
pounds sterling. I would like to be able to accept other currencies, but so
far, my bank isn't interested.

On the plus side, they say that they can print on almost any item of
clothing, even as a one-off. If anyone wants something other than a T-shirt,
maybe a sweatshirt for example, Email me with precise details, including
sizes, and I will come up with prices.

Before any printing takes place, I will make a graphic available on the web
for review, and comments will be eagerly accepted. Unfortunately, this will
not be a postscript type thing, as neither of us here has the technology to
make this. Most likely it will be a jpeg graphic.
