If so, I suppose F stands for the labiodental nasal! :))) I can see you have quite a weakness towards fricatives :)) . And the absence of bilabial sounds is quite striking! Is it related to the absence of back vowels? :))> Naturally, it would be written in Cyrillic. :) >Naturally :)) .> I'm curious what would be those of others? >Well, I have to think about it, but it would probably be quite different :))) . I would probably have back vowels (rounded AND unrounded :)) ) and bilabial sounds (maybe even a bilabial trill :)) ). I would add clicks for good measure (even though I have difficulties to pronounce them) as well as syllabic consonants and even prenasalised stops :)) . Usually my languages take only a subset of my ideal phonology (because my ideal phonology would probably be nothing else than the full IPA, with all characters using all diacritics possible :))) ). Still, I particularly like the phonemic inventory of Itakian: stops: p t k ? (t is alveolar) fricatives: P s x h (P is a bilabial fricative) liquids: j w r n (can also be syllabic i u r= n=) vowels: a e o It looks minimalistic, but this language has a lot of allophonic and even dialectal variations (there's even a dialect that replaces all the stops with clicks and all the fricatives with stops :)) ).
