It may be because I'ven't seen sufficiently many war movies featuring evil
nazis, but I can't get into my head that [x] should be a harsh sound. I
mean, it's soft, nice, cosy!
And don't tell me that Swedish _skön_ [x2:n]* "beatiful, pleasant" sounds
harsh! ;-)
* A'course, I'm perfectly aware that [x] isn't the prescriptionist
realization of /S/, but it's the one I use.
