At first: Welcome to the List!
Well, about texts to translate, don't you really want to write texts of your own?
Some very popular texts are 'The North Wind and the Sun' and
the Babel Text.
But well, a conlang never can be complete. It can be stable regarding its grammar,
but you never can say 'that's all I wanted'. And if you translate or write a lot,
you will always on creating new words.
And languages usually don't turn out as originally wanted :)
But at first, show us please your language.
Fonts for characters? If you look for non-standard Roman characters, then I
advise 'Times New Roman' or 'Verdana' or another full Unicode font :)))))))
Well. I assume you're talking about fonts for your alphabet.
This is much harder since it is near to impossible to find a previously done similar
font. So, you have to make one by hand.
I use Font Creator Program ( http://www.fontlab.com if I remember well ), wich
is an easy and excellent tool for creating fonts. (But of course you should have some
graphical talents and a lot of patience to create the fonts :))
And finally a cat maxim:
"Yíte láwe gwarted, tírte negedwo qi nurdwo, qen gwitendiud pelyartenna."
"Just go straight, do not look forward and around, and you will reach your goal."
