The local county government nearly passed a bill that
would have made it legal for you to complain about
your neighbour across the street's smoking outside,
and the neighbour would be compelled to smoke inside
only.
[And if it isn't apparent, yes, both parties are
outside, separated by maybe two or three hundred feet
of air space and wind direction is irrelevant.]
Happily, this bit of beaurocratic lunacy made national
news within about 10 minutes, and died a quick
(embarassed) death.
