Ah-ha! New computer, YANC and fluency

I just got a new, old 486 notebook computer (DOS!) just for the
express purpose of doing some writing and conlanging. This, of
course, has inspired me to start (Go ahead, say it. You know it's
coming.) Yet Another New Conlang. No details yet.

Why another one? I mean, do I need another one? I still have
ea-luna to work on, and I have SO MANY other languages at various
stages! Why not work on those? Why start over from scratch? Why
in the world have I started and abandoned so many projects, and
why can't I stay faithful to my main language? Ah, Mysteries!
Thank you, everyone, for putting up with this little bit of
introspection. I think my reasons have been different for every
language started and I think that this time, it is just the new
medium that is tempting me into new creation.

I am not fluent in any of my languages. I used to know quite a
lot of ea-luna when I was keeping a diary in it, but that has
been quite a long time ago. Right now I am working on regaining
my fluency and literacy in Spanish. I have a list of conlangs on
my "Fluency Wish List". Here are my top 5 lists:

CONLANGS:
1. ea-luna, because it is my own and my favorite among all of my
own.
2. NGL, because I have been marginally involved, and I have
enjoyed watching it grow. It really is pretty cool to see the new
translations and compositions that come up on that list, even if
I really can't read them very well.
3. Esperanto, because, despite its faults and my complete
skepticism about the whole IAL premise, I kinda have a warm spot
in my heart for it. At least I'd have other people to talk to,
and I've met a lot of friendly esperantistojn on the web.
4. Yufora, because it is another one of mine, it has a cool name,
and it really does sound nice. (I did have that one recording on
my web page that wasn't very good, but it really does sound
better than that. LOL)
5. Tokana, because it is my favorite artlang by someone else.

NATLANGS:
1. Spanish -- more a matter of brushing up than anything else,
and it has brought me such joy over the years!
2. Arabic -- It is pretty to my ear, and to my eye.
3. Italian -- I had a brief but intense love affair with Italian
in college, and I still haven't gotten over it.
4. Irish -- Fascinates me!
5. Indonesian -- I started learning Bahasa Indonesia on my own
and set it aside to get back to, sooner or later. Pretty neat.
Maybe sooner or later will come around, sooner or later.

I am working on my Spanish right now because it had gotten rusty,
and that seemed a real shame to me. Unfortunately, the only
people I have to talk to regularly are Liam and Lilia (ages 3 and
1). I had originally wanted to speak to Liam in ea-luna when he
was born, but I felt a little silly and wasn't confident enough
about my fluency to really do it. I wish I had gone through with
it just to improve my own fluency!
