My memory has been nagging me all day, soI looked up the citation
(Mishna, masechet Shevi'it, chap. 4, mishna 7)
and I have to admit to having misled you all this morning. :-(
(Thus showing that it's not too good an idea to cite things
from memory, especially when you are in a hurry, as I was
this morning!)
I now have the text open before me, and the word
|misheyazrixu| does not refer to any condition of the sky.
Rather it refers to unripe figs that have turned a reddish color.

A word is an awesome thing.
