I said: "understand", I never said: "reproduce", let alone in everyday
speech. :))))
I often have a hard time hearing the two sounds apart, and if I can pronounce
them in isolation, in normal speech I cannot. "Cat" is still [kat] for me (yes,
I usually don't aspirate my stops at the beginning of words. Sorry to be
French :))) ).
