Right, but my point is that it seems unlikely that it would be
allophonic in some positions, but phonemic in others. In other words,
either you'd have *all* stops with implosive allophones, or all
implosives would be phonemic. I just doubt that it could sometimes be
allophonic and sometimes phonemic.
