Re: So-called Alternative Lifestyles (was Unconventional pronoun systemsshow us yours!)

I thought this thread was supposed to be dead?

Since it apparently isn't, I might address the original (?) question of how our
concultures handle "alternative lifestyles":

The Tairezans, and their various neighbours, are pretty tolerant of everything
that doesn't involve violence. If you're into S&M, tough luck; Tairezan culture
is very intolerant of private use of violence. I guess people who like to be
hurt in sexual contexts are in for mental treatment in Taireza.

The Kalana will kill you if you engage in deviant sexual behaviour. What
qualifies as deviant is pretty much up to the local chieftain, but unless he's
homosexual himself, it's a good bet homosexuality is on the list. Actually, it
probably is even if he is, since he wouldn't want it to be known.

Don't know about the Meghean-speakers. I don't even know if homosexuality occurs
among them, but since sexual dimorphism is less pronounced among them than among
humans, it would seem likely.

My personal motto is rather: "as long as > > everybody involved is in agreement".
