That's interesting, and very logical, but, oddly, not how I learned it!
Your explanations of "aquí", "allí", and "allá" agree with what I learned,
but I learned that "acá" was "hither" - implying movement toward here
rather than location. Either explanation works for the most common phrase
using it, "ven acá". Hm. I'll have to consult with my native experts. :)
