Focusing on food helps. Thinking about what resources for food and its
preparation there are can really build vocabulary. It will also lead you
into agricultural needs (plows, hoes, tools, methods) and THEIR preparation
(how are they made? Are the plows wooden, or metal, or wood with metal
edges?)
Enough about food preparation, how it is gathered, grown, or hunted can come
close to filling in the gaps of "a day in the life of ..." and give one
plenty of ideas for vocabulary items. :)
