You know what's odd? There's no "cent" key on a standard US keyboard.
What's up with that?
There's scope for what-if-ism here, too. What if early programming
language designers had had ready access to the "cent" glyph, for instance?
To what use might one put it?
Likewise linguists designing ASCII-IPA schemes, and I suspect the list
goes on.
