Interesting question. I had always assumed (not knowing that _fuishiki_ actually had a meaning in Japanese) that his name was Fuishiki. But a quick Google gave several references to the guy as Rikishi [Fuishiki] Okamoto. So it could well be that Fuishiki was a name that he adopted for himself, maybe when, as he wries: "At the age of forty, it was possible for me to gain assurance of what truth is, and I found out a way how to obtain this absolute truth and supreme good."
