As a totally different twist on where this thread is heading, how much
help is it to have a wide variety of languages available? My one
conlang-to-be is purely a Germanic tongue, so anything outside of
that area is of little help. Is having books on Lenâpé or Lau*
available at hand or on the web a great help, or mostly irrelevant?
* Okay, so I didn't pick those at random; The Grammar and Vocabulary of
the Lau language is available from Project Gutenberg, and The Lenâpé and
Their Legends will be available sometime. I've been scanning for Project
Gutenberg, and a couple old series of American linguistics are on my
todo list, but whether they're worth the effort is questionable.
