There are two states that are officially bilingual: New Mexico
(English/Spanish, part of the original agreement), and Hawai'i (English/
Hawai'ian, ditto but not very practical these days).
But as Octavio Paz (I think) said, "When the state of Florida decrees
that English is its only language, that means that English is not the
only language of the state of Florida!"
