The Sapir-Whorf hypothesis has been largely discredited by now, in at least its strict formulation of language being a prison for the minds of its speakers. Which is not to say that languistic structures have no influence on thought; just that they don't have anywhere near overriding influence on it.

Sure, it *can* be.
