Indeed. The modern Greek adjective "vlakhikos" means something like "unintelligible, gobbledy-gook-speaking". This is then combined with "frangos" ("fragkos", technically, by Greek orthographic rules) = "Frank" = "Westerner" to produce the wonderful term "frangovlakhika" for the practice of writing Greek in Latin letters for use on the Internet! See http://www.tlg.uci.edu/~opoudjis/Nick-gr.html for Nick Nicholas's frangovlakhika home page. The real Greek (in ISO 8859-7) is at http://www.tlg.uci.edu/~opoudjis/Nick-hel.html . -- John Cowan http://www.ccil.org/~cowan cowan@ccil.org You tollerday donsk? N. You tolkatiff scowegian? Nn.
