distinguish those who are related, in an objective genetic sense (even
if it's distant, like, say, 7th cousin thrice removed or something), and

I'm using "blood relative" to mean a relative who is actually a
relative, who is not connected by marriage.  Not "relative who is
covered by an incest taboo".
