I believe it is actually Algonkian, Cree or Ojibwa?? The latter
were certainly enemies of the Sioux (Lakhota, Dakota, Nakota)
and in fact largely chased them out onto the Great Plains. Yet
another time I wish I had left my lg books here at home, heavy
sigh.
