I don't know much about Greek, but how intelligible are Modern, Classical, and Biblical Greek to one another (when written, of course - I know there have been phonetic changes). Would it be, for example, a situation similar to Old vs. Modern English, Latin vs. Italian, or even Old Norse vs. Icelandic?
