They may want that all they want, but they have no way of knowing it
short of enforcing a credit check or some such method of obtaining
legal information. Most online services don't bother to go that far.

They can't, and shouldn't ever, know what name is associated with your
frontiernet account. Generally speaking, *no one* online can nor
should know this without your consent, unless your ISP is openly
breaking privacy laws (which is unlikely). And even then, a company
with a reputation (and competence!) like Google's is even less likely
to obtain and use such information.

I'll leave this up to the real gmailers to answer, but I'd expect a
company with a stature like Google to impose much less draconian terms
of use than that! It must be some sort of technical glitch somewhere.
It may be a browser-related issue, since gmail is still not officially
released, and they haven't completely ironed out all browser issues
yet. I'll let the gmailers help you on that one.
