Dear Barry,
I would not like the list split again, I joined right after the split
and it was explained to me that the auxlangers were kinda invited
out to their own list because of all the disputing and arguing going
on... It's been my experience that there is indeed a lot more
arguing over there... some people like to bring the arguments
over to conlang as well, and I am guilty of crosspolinating the
two lists from time to time. However more than anything I consider
myself a conlang/artlang fan... I do like auxlangs and I love
Interlingua de IALA and post in it on auxlang list... I've also
posted in other auxlangs for the fun of it. But back when it
was hosted in diku over in germany there was quite a few of
a different crowd in auxlang that tended to argue a lot more...
now it seems to me a lot of auxlangers are also in conlang.
Over the issue of the Conlang-T-shirt I feel that auxlangs can
be acceptable since they represent the love for language
development that I think we all share... that is why were
subscribed... and so I would welcome a phrase in a handful
of auxlangs... specially those that show special distinction
and originality... definite examples of Pride in Conlanging!
Since,
Jay B.
