Possibly indeed, and most likely to various evil ladies too. But the visible part WAS still present immediately after I ran Ad-aware, and it WAS gone a minor depression and a cappucino later; indeed still IS gone. I didn't do anything that seems vaguely relevant in between. Andreas PS On the subject of obnoxious software, can anyone tell me a good reason the vast majority of install wizards create various shortcuts in bizarre places without one being able to stop it. The first thing I do after installing a new programme is typically cleansing my desktop and start menu of unwanted shortcuts, which does seem somewhat inefficient. The most infuriating thing of all is that many installers ask where I want the shortcut, but does not give the option I want; nowhere. Sigh.
