I was just talking about getting Unicode through the listserv in good
old-fashioned SMTP mail --- but yes, the web interface mangles it even
more. It puts in ?'s for what it thinks is control characters, but are
really parts of Unicode characters--- and besides, most browsers would
need a header on the web page to make them switch to Unicode.
So until the archive interface is fixed, we'd better keep to Latin-1.
