Then R drags in its friend L, then S and SH, ...
I've been avoiding diphthongs, but using just A I U
one can generate AI IA AU UA UI IU for 9 total.
Or using Y W as glides, 15 or 30 more.
So I'll stop at the standard 7 vowels, W included.
