_Hunden/katten vill in/ut_ 'the dog/cat wants in/out_. Swedish has _vill ut/in/hit/dit/hem/tillbaka/bort/genom_ 'wants (to go) out/in/here/there/home/back/away/through'. We can also say _vill_ + PREP + PLACENAME, e.g. _jag vill på bio_ 'want to go to the movies' _jag vill inte till skolan_ 'I don't want to go to school', _jag vill från stan_ 'want to go/get away from the city'. There is also ' _Jag vill runt huset_ 'I want around the house' which has a very specialized meaning IML. I guess I'm influenced by a now dying rural usage! The only verb which can readily be substituted for _vilja_ in these constructions is _längta_ 'long to go' as in _jag längtar till Grekland_ 'I'm longing to go to Greece'. NB _Jag längtar att åka till G._ with 'to go' explicified is possible but rarer. Same with the other examples _vill gå på bio_ etc. My examples my be influenced by Tweenese, but the usage is definitely adult! ;-)
