Doesn't Chinese differentiate between male cousin and female cousin? That
is a pretty important distinction in Maltese. May I respectfully suggest
that you cease and desist from all usage of the Chinese language, and this
fundamental flaw in that language is proof that it is causing you to think
in a fuzzy fashion.

Now, I ask again. What does your *conlang* say the word for "mother's
cousin's husband's sister" is?
