Angry? I'm not angry in the least. That would be a totally silly reaction. Nor was I addressing the fact that I'd invited you to gmail. I have invitations galore, no loss if I send one that doesn't stick. I was just confused about the combination of behaviors involving (1) continuing to use Yahoo!, while (2) complaining about the lack of Unicode support. :) I just hadn't gotten around to downloading

Well, you needn't worry in this case. Neither Yahoo! email nor Google Mail is anything that you have to download. They're just websites that you visit. You don't need to run any sort of program other than your web browser to use them. Now how do I get it to operate? Just point your web browser at http://mail.google.com/mail. You should get a login page; type in the username and password you just set up. You won't see any of the old messages - those will still be over at Yahoo!. That's a disadvantage of switching email addresses when using web-based email like this - GMail isn't a new program to use to read your mail, it's a whole new email address. But you can always go back to Yahoo! to read them. In order to get something to read at gmail, you have to get someone to send you email there. I recommend subscribing to conlang with your new address and using it for that for a while, to see if you like it or not. And you don't have to delete anything - Yahoo! isn't a program either, it's just a place you go to read email. -- Mark J. Reed <markjreed@...>
