Unfortunately i don't have any of my books of traditional commentaries
with me, but i'm pretty sure it's because Nimrod is seen as an evil
dictator who rebelled against God. In post-Biblical lore he's
associated with our favorite edifice, the Tower of Babel, and also with
the legend of Abraham getting thrown into a fiery furnace while growing
up in Ur Kasdim (it's Nimrod's fault).
