I say: within reasonable variations - not wildly violating _certain basic_ universals, go with the beautiful asymmetry :) I like phonological asymmetry personally. IMHO It adds a certain intriguing "spiciness" to a lang - natlang or conlang... Abiding by _all_ the universals seems rather "bland" and somewhat too auxlang-ish. €º°`°º€ø,¸¸,ø€º°`°º€ø,¸¸,ø€º°`°º€ø,¸¸,ø€º°`°º€ø,¸¸,ø€º°`°º€€º°`°º€ø,¸~-> Hanuman Zhang, 3-Toed-Sloth-Style Gungfu Typist ;) "the sloth is a chinese poet upsidedown" --- Jack Kerouac {1922-69} -------------------------------------------------- "There is no reason for the poet to be limited to words, and in fact the poet is most poetic when inventing languages.
