Nova is my primary conlang. Its most important features are a small morpheme base (ca.900) with words being generated through oligo-synthesis; an analysis of the world as being a series of events with word classes largely generated by the duration of the event; heavily inflected but for non-traditional inflections; the linking of related polar concepts (good > bad; rich > poor, etc.)into a single morpheme which is in turn modified by degree morphemes to pin down the meaning; vowels have inherent tones; a labiodental stop/nasal series which I believe to be unique (but which probably isn't); an elaborate series of morphemes for describing scents. There is probably more to include here, but that will do for now. If your article includes URLs, please use the one in my sigfile, the other is now just a mirror site and at this time, is not be updated. -- Brad Coon hawksinger@fwi.com http://www.fortunecity.com/rivendell/everquest/624 My Conlang and Conculture pages http://www.ipfw.indiana.edu/east1/coon/web/index.htm Most of my pages including my home page http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/Gorge/7264 My Outdoor and Primitive Skills Pages http://members.tripod.com/~Hawksinger My wine pages.
