Also incubuses and sucubuses and many other evil
beings of these sorts. But no, I thought there was a
supernatural male humanoid (Real Men(tm) can't walk
through walls) standing next to me strangling me. Or
perhaps, I felt like I was being strangled and there
was a SMH standing next to me. Feeling like one is
being strangled and 'aware' of the 'presence' of
someone else in your room and being totally unable to
shout 'Help!', let alone move, will lead people to
take 1 and maybe-1 and make 4.
(The technical term for it that I'm aware of is
'Awareness during Sleep Paralysis', abbreved to ASP.)

Well, not everyone experiences everything in exactly
the same way. It sounds close enough to some
descriptions from an article in a psych journal that
it seems to fit, though. (There's been a number of
occasions where I found myself unable to move or even
speak, but I'm sure this is the only time I felt there
was a being in my room trying to strangle me.)
