I completely disagree! The French orthography is pretty good, considering
the triple task of representing sounds, grammar and etymology (necessary to
prevent ambiguity and help understand meaning by keeping together in
orthography words which have wandered apart in pronunciation). And it is
quite aesthetic. All in all, French has only very few truly irregular
spellings, and as such is pretty phonemic, and corresponds quite well to
what written French is like. Of course, Spoken French is a pretty different
language, but let's not get into that, especially with the list having
reached its daily limit :)) .

You need a straight mind to invent a twisted conlang.
