I daresay the situation is analogical to saying _Finland_ and _Sverige_
("Sweden") when speaking Swedish, but _Suomi_ and _Ruotsi_ when speaking
Finnish. In spite of the terms not being etymologically related in the two
languages, and in spite of the fact that _Ruotsi_ has no official status in
Sweden it would feel patently perverse to use the Swedish terms while
speaking/writing Finnish, or vice versa.
