I seem to remember commonly seeing descriptions of how a triconsonantal
system works in websites about Arabic, but from what you've said you seem
to have gotten a good idea of it - all you need to remember is to try and
not make it "too" hard to recognize the root. you can use prefixes,
infixes, suffixes, and combinations of them, using both consonants and
vowels.
