About ten years ago, there was a woman living north of Detroit
who was a native speaker of Esperanto. She grew up in Spain.
Her father was Spanish, and her mother was Latvian. Her parents
met as Esperanto penpals. Eventually they married and settled
in Spain. She had several siblings, and they grew up speaking
Esperanto around the house.
