Now that I think of it (and tried it a lot), have difficulties to make
any difference between a palatal m /m~/ and the sequence /mj/. But I
think it's easier for me to raise the tongue to the palate while
pronouncing the nasal so I guess what I'm pronouncing is always /m~/ :)
. Anyway I think it's the way we French pronounce _mi_ followed by a
vowel in colloquial fast speech (like for instance in "miam miam !":
"yummy!"), so it's far from impossible. I personnally think you can go
with it, but as the palatal n is much more frequent than the m, I think
if you want to have the m~, you should have also n~.
