Exactly right.  You toss the coins 6 times to generate
6 lines either solid or broken; thus there are 2^6 = 64
different symbols, called "hexagrams".

If there are three heads, the line is solid.
If there are two heads, the line is broken-changing-to-solid.
If there is one head, the line is solid-changing-to-broken.
If there are no heads, the line is broken.

After generating the hexagram, you read its general interpretation,
then read the specific meanings of any changing lines.
You then change all the changing lines, which generates a new
hexagram whose general interpretation represents the new situation.
