Also, I think this should take a prize for the FASTEST website upload;  I
wonder what PageMill or FrontPage Matt used for this.  Recall, though,
that Matt spent I think six or seven years on detailed refinement of
Tokana in paper form ON A COMPUTER, and fortunately he seems to have used
a word processor that adapted easily to uploading.  I am, regrettably, an
addicted notabenieri (I use Nota Bene which TO DATE has not come out with
even a Windows version of its word processor, as powerful as it is), and
it translates with difficulty into Word or Word Perfect so I'm stuck.

I started the Teonaht dictionary and grammar some years ago on Nota Bene,
and then when I joined the list I put my foot to the pedal and really got
the paper copy together.  But the webpage was another animal.  I've had to
input what I have by hand--tables, everything--and even my own desperate
obsessive/compulsive tendencies find this a challenge for the verbs (the
most table-heavy file yet).  So I would venture to guess that it is love,
dedication, and compulsion that gives a meticulous conlanger like Matt his
detailia-- along with efficient word-processing, and the devoted help of
people like David to house the site for him.  And the encouragement and
interest of the rest of us.  I can't tell you how much of an incentive
THAT is!
