Yep! But as for the grandprizewinner... The theory of the cat-toast has already been known for years (I saw it the first time when I was still in high school!). IIRC, some laboratory was developing anti-gravity cars using this phenomenon. The problem being if the cat manages to eat the toast (quite a catastrophe if you make a cruise ship with this system!). There were experiments going on trying to replace the butter with something else (jam, peanut butter, etc...) in order to find something that the cat would never want to eat.
